Unpacking Our Certifications: A Deeper Dive into 1% for the Planet

At Organic Mondays , we're proud to display our certifications — from being a vegan and women-owned -certified brand as well as a proud member of the 1% For the Planet movement. But what do these certifications truly mean? Let’s take a closer look at the impact behind the badge, starting with our commitment to 1% for the Planet.

What is 1% for the Planet ?

Founded by Yvon Chouinard of Patagonia and Craig Mathews of Blue Ribbon Flies, 1% for the Planet was created to fight greenwashing and drive meaningful environmental change. As members, we pledge 1% of our annual sales to support nonprofit organisations that are accountable for addressing the planet's most urgent environmental and social challenges.

This commitment has allowed us to form powerful partnerships with non-profits aligned with our values. One such partnership is with InKind Direct — a UK-based charity that connects surplus products with communities in need.

Our Partnership with InKind Direct: Making Every Product Count

So, what is In Kind Direct ?

Think of it as a bridge between businesses and the charities that need them most. Through their platform, charities can select the products they need, saving money that can be better spent on the people they support.

By partnering with InKind Direct, we've found a meaningful way to distribute period products, supporting those communities in need across the UK. We’re proud to say that Organic Mondays has donated in total over 610,000 period products — and counting.

Why does this matter? Hygiene poverty is on the rise, with 3.15 million adults in the UK already affected — a number that’s projected to increase to 8 million in the coming months. Period products are some of the most in-demand items, and through InKind Direct, we're ensuring that our donations reach carefully vetted charities that need them the most.

Every Step Counts: Join Us in Making an Impact

Our collaboration with 1% for the Planet and InKind Direct goes beyond corporate social responsibility. It’s about balancing what we take from the planet with what we give back — not just to the environment, but to the communities around us.

This is more than just a certification; it’s a call to action. Together, we can raise awareness, spread the word, and make our certifications count. Join us as a Mondays client and you’ll be helping these incredible non-profits achieve a fairer, more sustainable world.
